Garrison Keillor, Youtube: The Origins of Lake Wobegon
Garrison Keillor explains Lake Wobegon' origins and how he discovered people needed not another dark tragic sensibility (for they have their own), but instead a cheerful person to help them wake up in the morning. And he started making up a cheerful personality and incarnated his parents, siblings, etc. in Lake Wobegon (in Ojibwe, "the place where we were waiting for you for three days in the rain")
"Thank you for touching our hearts, making us laugh til we had tears in our eyes. And making us think about how we look at those around us with humility and honesty" (McKormick, on Youtube)

Well, in both books, delightful though they are, not a word about Colored People nor Native Americans. Garrison, do they exist ?
